One crystal shows fracturing in place during metamorphization. Back is sawn flat. Personally collected. Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x3x1 cm. Size of individual crystals: 5020 mm. |

Obtained many decades ago in a lucky find, this was long a treasured piece in the collection. It is a huge, symmetric, lustrous chocolate-brown, freestanding crystal of vesuvianite from this very important locality for the species that goes back in history.
