There are two areas of hackmanite in this rock, one area is 3cm X 3cm, the other 2.2cm X 2.2cm. Koksha Valley (Kokscha; Kokcha), Badakhshan (Badakshan; Badahsan) Province, Afghanistan 2.7 x 1.6 cm. A superb, well terminated, transparent GEM xl of light yellow color. The same (or similar) material has also been ID'd as RICHTERITE and a KAERSUTITE type AMPHIBOLE. |

It is very probably, that outer purple zones of crystals are represented by another, more interesting amfibole. It is vell visible on small unbroken prisme on the bottom of the photo. Tiny impregnation of black octahedrons of braunite dessiminated in albite. FOV is ~12x10 mm. ... |
