Wulfenite : Pb[MoO4]

Aurora Mine, Cuchillo Parado, Mun. de Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico

For those who like a more elegant and stark look in a specimen, rather than a profusion of crystals, this old La Aurora piece (NOT the more common Los Lamentos!) features a single fine, translucent wulfenite crystal measuring one centimeter, on a bed of calcite which itself sits on a limonite matrix. Aurora Mine, Cuchillo Parado, Mun. de Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico

7.2 x 6.4 x 6.0 cm. Rare, lustrous, caramel-colored, bi-pyramidal wulfenite crystals to 8 mm are festooned on the sturdy, 3-dimensional, 5-sided, very vuggy matrix of sulfides and iron oxides from the much less well-known Cuchillo Parado area of Chihuahua, Mexico. A rich scattering of lustrous, colorless calcite crystals are a very nice accent. ...

8.4 x 6.9 x 4.4 cm. A rare, old-time specimen from the famous but small mine here, and the Mullane Collection. Striking, lustrous, rust-red, bi-pyramidal wulfenite crystals to 7 mm richly and aesthetically cover both sides of the sturdy, 3-dimensional, vuggy goethite matrix. The backside features colorless calcite (?) crystals. This excellent ...
