Fluorite (Var: Yttrofluorite) : (Ca1-xYx)F2+x where 0.05< x <0.3, Allanite, Bastnäsite

Øvre Lapplegret Quarry (Øvre Lapplægran; Øvre Lapplægret; Øvre Lapplæger), Lapplegret (Lapplægran; Lapplægret; Lapplæger), Drag, Tysfjord, Nordland, Norway

White to light yellowish yttrofluorite with a caracteristic rim of black allanite-(Ce) against the white feldspar. The brownish grains in the massive yttrofluorite are poorly developed bastnesite-(Ce) crystals. FOV: 4 cm. Collected by (2006) and in the collection of OT. Ljostad.

Øvre Lapplegret Quarry (Øvre Lapplægran; Øvre Lapplægret; Øvre Lapplæger), Lapplegret (Lapplægran; Lapplægret; Lapplæger), Drag, Tysfjord, Nordland, Norway

Granular segregation of low REE-bearing (with only 2.78 wt.% Y) yttrofluorite dividing from silicate pegmatite matrix (mainly consist of microcline) by black reactional rim of allanite-(Ce). Apparently before allanite formation contents of Y and LREE were equal, so initial mineral was "yttrocerite" = fluorite with Y~Ce. Yttrofluorite concentrated ...

Fluorite (Var: Yttrofluorite) : (Ca1-xYx)F2+x where 0.05< x <0.3, Caysichite-(Y) : Ca2Y2Si4O10(CO3)3·4H2O

Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Big flesh-coloured yttrofluorite-I (pinkish to white, Y+HREE content is ~35%, its composition almost equal to tveitite-(Y) one, but it is still cubic) with rich inclusions of white caysichite-(Y). This is the earliest generation of fluorite on the locality. Associated minerals are quartz, cleavelandite, amazonite and zinnvaldite. Specimen size is ...

Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Big monograin of flesh-coloured Yttrofluorite-I looks like Tveitite-(Y) and has similar composition (Y+HREE content is ~35%), but it is still cubic. This is the earliest generation of fluorite on the locality. This specimen is unusually fresh and dont contain products of decomposition formed during replacement of Yttrofluorite-I by violet ...

Fluorite (Var: Yttrofluorite) : (Ca1-xYx)F2+x where 0.05< x <0.3, Microcline (Var: Amazonite) : K[AlSi3O8], Zinnwaldite : KLiFe2+Al[(F,OH)2|AlSi3O10], Albite : Na[AlSi3O8]

Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Violet veinlet of the most later on the locality Yttrofluorite-III (with only 1-2% of Y and REE-free) in green Amazonite block. Associating minerals are white Albite mirmekites within amazonite grain and dark Zinnwaldite basement. Grain of former flesh-coloured Yttrofluorite-I is visible on the rightmost end of the specimen. Its size is 8x6x4 cm. ...

Fluorite (Var: Yttrofluorite) : (Ca1-xYx)F2+x where 0.05< x <0.3, Keiviite-(Yb) : (Yb,Y)2[Si2O7], Monazite-(Ce) : (Ce,La,Nd,Th)PO4, Zinnwaldite : KLiFe2+Al[(F,OH)2|AlSi3O10], Microcline (Var: Amazonite) : K[AlSi3O8]

Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Replacement crusts of violet to brownish Yttrofluorite-II after cavernous cores of yellow Yttrofluorite-I. Former yellow yttrofluorite is enriched with both Y and REE. Later violet yttrofluorite is enriched only Y. So all REE coming to solution during this replacement formed own REE minerals. Brownish comparatively large grains of Monazite-(Ce) ...

Fluorite (Var: Yttrofluorite) : (Ca1-xYx)F2+x where 0.05< x <0.3, Kainosite-(Y) : Ca2(Y,Ce)2Si4O12CO3·H2O, Zinnwaldite : KLiFe2+Al[(F,OH)2|AlSi3O10], Microcline (Var: Amazonite) : K[AlSi3O8], Albite : Na[AlSi3O8]

Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Replacement crusts of violet to brownish Yttrofluorite-II after cavernous cores of yellow Yttrofluorite-I. White minor streaks within dark Zinnwaldite plates are prismatic Kainosite-(Y) crystals. Other associating minerals are green Amazonite and white Albite mirmekites within it. Also present invisible under such magnification Keiviite-(Yb), ...

Violet veinlet of the most later on the locality Yttrofluorite-III (with only 1-2% of Y and REE-free) in green Amazonite block. Associating minerals are white Albite mirmekites within amazonite and minor white tabular crystals of Kainosite-(Y) within yttrofluorite veinlet. Both white minerals are quite similar.
