Awaruite : Ni3Fe

Josephine Creek, Josephine Creek District, Josephine Co., Oregon, USA

1.5 cm stream-rounded placer nugget. Labeled as "oregonite", but this specimen is visually identical to the much more common awaruite, and has not been tested to confirm identity. They are easily distinguished, as awaruite is strongly magnetic, while oregonite is not. S034-25
