Multiple photos availableZektzerite : LiNa(Zr,Ti,Hf)Si6O15, Bafertisite : Ba(Fe3+,Mn2+)2Ti[O|(O,OH)2|Si2O7]

Darai-Pioz (Dara-i-Pioz; Dara-Pioz) Glacier, Alai (Alayskiy) Range, Tien Shan Mts, Region of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan

Pinkish-white grain of zektzerite in grey K-feldspar. Usually zektzerites on the locality are much more smaller and practicaly unvisible without UV-lamp in white feldspars. Associated minerals are orange bafertisite and (probably) more light coloured and later formed hejtmanite. FOV is ~15x13 mm. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

Zektzerite : LiNa(Zr,Ti,Hf)Si6O15, Mica Group

Darai-Pioz (Dara-i-Pioz; Dara-Pioz) Glacier, Alai (Alayskiy) Range, Tien Shan Mts, Region of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan

Feldspar/quartz sample with plenty of brownish mica (most not to be seen here), an unidentified reddish-black 1 mm crystal and an UV-active zektzerite area mainly beneath the end of the arrow. Mikhail Murashko sample, delivered by Sergey Vasiliev - thanks!

Zektzerite : LiNa(Zr,Ti,Hf)Si6O15

Washington Pass, Golden Horn Batholith, Okanogan Co., Washington, USA

Small (1.5 mm long) but very nice zektzerite crystal associate with astrophyllite and albite in small vug in alkaline granite. This crystal show typical orthorombic morphology (100), (011),(010) and (100) combination. Collected by Dmitrii I. Belakovskii. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

Zektzerite : LiNa(Zr,Ti,Hf)Si6O15

Washington Pass, Golden Horn Batholith, Okanogan Co., Washington, USA

A zektzerite photographed in white light, juxtaposed with a photo of the same crystal cluster, in short wave fluorescent light. Photomicrographs © Saul Krotki 2004 (.0588). The cluster measures 8.0 mm across and sits on a 6" piece of crudely crystallized microcline. From this years diggings. Krotki Micromount Collection.
