Zinc : Zn, Smithsonite : ZnCO3

Bagui village, Bafing river, Guinea

Field of view is 2x3 mm. Small nuggets of native zinc covered by crystalline crusts of white smithsonite. They was extracted from a heavy concentrate of a gold placer. Material was uplifted from borehole from about 30 m depth. Collected by Oleg Khotylev. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
