Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Chalcostibite : CuSbS2

Rar-el-Anz, Cherrat Wadi, Casablanca Prefecture, Grand Casablanca Region, Morocco

Euhedral crystals of the copper/antimony sulfide chalcostibite that have partly altered to azurite and malachite. Unusual and pretty., plus very good for the material (most are rather more irregularly formed!). 3.5 x 3.0 x 2.0 cm

Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Chalcostibite : CuSbS2

Rar-el-Anz, Cherrat Wadi, Casablanca Prefecture, Grand Casablanca Region, Morocco

A fine example of crystals of the copper-antimony sulfide chalcostibite that have been partially replaced by bright blue azurite, a phenomenon peculiar to this locality near Casablanca. There is unusually good crystal definition for this type of specimen, on this piece. RARE! 4.2 x 3.2 x 1.7 cm

Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Chalcostibite : CuSbS2

Rar-el-Anz, Cherrat Wadi, Casablanca Prefecture, Grand Casablanca Region, Morocco

3.5 x 2.6 x 0.9 cm. A RARE and showy pseudomorph of lustrous, striated, azure-blue azurite after chalcostibite crystals from a MOST UNCOMMON locality - Rar-el-Anz, Morocco. Chalcostibite is an uncommon sulfosalt and this pseudo is REALLY GOOD, even with the contacted termination.

Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Chalcostibite : CuSbS2

Rar-el-Anz, Cherrat Wadi, Casablanca Prefecture, Grand Casablanca Region, Morocco

An 8.3 x 3.9 x 6.3 cm brecciated matrix, this rich throughout with prismatic crystalline prismatic striated chalcostibite to 3 cm in length. These are in turn replaced by blue azurite. The replacement is only partial, and metallic silvery-black chalcostibite is present upon the specimen.
