Beudantite : PbFe3[(OH)6|SO4|AsO4]

Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia

DOZENS of sharp, green-brown , lustorus beudantite crystals to 3 mm cover this matrix specimen, on almost all sides. Despite beng a "rare ugly" the piece as a whole really sparkles and has some eye appeal, and the crystals are readily eye-visible, making this a very fine display specimen for the species. Acquired 8-20-1986 from Joseph Pitsch, the ...

Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia

Translucent yellowish to reddish brown crystals of Beudantite coat one side of the matrix. The crystals are well formed and cube-like measuring to just over 1mm. The crystals have a vitreous lustre which gives the thumbnail a sparkle. Yellowish finely crystallised Beudantite is between the larger crystals, and through the matrix. Minor colourless ...

Spherical crystal groups of well formed brown Beudantite on a ferruginous Quartz matrix. The crystals are sharply formed pseudohexagonal with adamantine lustre and measure up to 4mm in size. The clusters are rosette like and measure to over 7mm. Finer crystals coat the matrix between the clusters. A superb miniature with very large crystals of ...

Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia

Multiple spherical clusters of sharply formed dark brown/green Beudanite crystals (to 6mm) are scattered over a finely crystalline coating of Beudantite on a ferruginous Quartz matrix. The Beudantite exhibits superb adamantine lustre. This is a reasonably rare mineral, and the best crystals are thought to come from Tsumeb. It is unusual to have ...

2.9 x 2.4 x 2.0 cm. Super sharp, tabular and pseudohexagonal, olive-green beaudantite crystals RICHLY line a well-placed vug on matrix along with botryoidal, dark green arsentsumebite. The specimen is beautifully crowned with a glassy, cyclic-twinned cerussite crystal. This is a VERY FINE display piece for these rare species and nicely accented by ...

2.9 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm. Yellow mimetite crystals and lustrous, greenish-black beaudantite crystals aesthetically set in a vug form a showy and excellent Tsumeb combination specimen. This is a fine display combo, RARELY seen with these two species.
