Nantan meteorites (Nandan meteorites), Lihu - Yaochai area, Nandan Co., Hechi Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China

Yellow to brownish masses of various amounts of akaganeite, goethite and a spinel group mineral on Nantan meteorite. All the minerals are confirmed by PXRD. Field of view is 4.5 mm.

Brown to redish-brown botrioidal crust of Akaganeite over coarse-granular corundum-bearing feldspar metasomatite matrix. Specimen size is 7x5x2 cm, thickness of the crust is up to 2 mm. Collected by Igor V. Pekov in 2005. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
