Pumice quarries, Wingertsberg Mt., Niedermendig, Mendig, Laach lake volcanic complex, Eifel Mts, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

Chevkinite-(Ce) on Rhodonite/Bustamite matrix. Black prismatic crystals with an amphibole-like habit. Confirmed by XRD and SEM-EDS analysis. Ce/La ratio is about 52/48. Field of view 6 mm. Collected in 07/1982, photograph by Stephan Wolfsried.
