Brown prismatic crystals of niobokupletskite in cavity of white K-feldspar. Associating minerals are pinkish grain of eudialyte, hexagonal plates of transparent catapleiite and aegirine. FOV is ~12x10 mm. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

Modris Baum collection. FOV 3.8 x 2.6 mm. The niobokupletskite is brown, the franconite is white. Both species confirmed via EDS at ROM. EDS is only qualitative - but sufficient in this case.

Light brown niobokupletskite overgrowing darker brown kupletskite. Image is about 8.5 mm in length. Specimen was donated to the silent auction at the 2009 Rochester Mineralogical Symposium by Gilles Haineault, and I was the high bidder. Photo and specimen: Steve Stuart.
