Nežilovite : PbZn2(Mn4+,Ti4+)2Fe3+8O19, Quartz : SiO2

Nežilovo, Veles, Republic of Macedonia

Nezilovite in form of tiny intergrown hexagonal blades, ingrown in quartz. The mineral is the only know natural oxide with Pb-Zn-Mn-Fe combination. The yellow coexisting mineral is not yet identified. Field of view is 1.5 mm. Specimen obtained from Sonke Stolze mineral shop - thanks!

Nežilovite : PbZn2(Mn4+,Ti4+)2Fe3+8O19

Kalugeri Hill, Babuna Valley, Jakupica Mts, Nežilovo, Veles, Republic of Macedonia

7.2 x 4.8 x 1.7 cm. This extremely rare, lead, zinc, manganese, titanium, iron oxide occurs as splendent, gray, subhedral crystals, to .3 cm across, in a sandstone matrix. This specimen is from the type locality in Macedonia.
