Dashkesan (Dashkezan) Co-Fe deposit, Dashkesan, Daşkəsən (Daskasan; Dashkyasan) District, Azerbaijan

A very uncommon, strikingly beautiful specimen featuring two sharp and finely formed chalcopyrite crystals (to 2 cm) coated by bornite, on a contrasting matrix of crystalline epidote. This specimen absolutely leapt out from amongst the offerings of the Cincinnati show dealer from whom I bought it earlier this year. 5.3 x 5.3 x 3.5 cm

Chunk of ore rock containing massive bornite, millerite and quartz from one of the Inco Mines near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Specimen is 26cm long by 10cm by 9cm. The attractive specimen is spherical in the mass, with slight but highly lustrous iridescent crystals of bornite covering the full surface.
