Strange Lake complex (Lac Brisson complex), Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Small, transparent, palest pink grain of zajacite in granite matrix, exhibiting conchoidal fracture characteristic of the species. This is relatively unaltered material; the mineral will become opaque and orange colored with increasing degrees of replacment by bastnaesite-(Ce).
0.4 cm field of view.

Specimen of peralkaline granite hosting cream colored phenocryst of Zajacite-(Ce). Associating minerals are black arfvedsonite, white shugar-like albite and colourless glassy quartz. Field of view approx 1 cm across
