Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil 2.6 x 2.1 x 1.2 cm. Colorless "goshenite" is actually amongst the rarest of the beryls. This is a fine tabular, hexagonal crystal, with high luster and transparency. On its edges and upper face, smaller beryls have grown in a stacked arrangement, slightly colored with iron oxide. |

Caiana (Cayana), Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil 4.3 x 2.4 x 2.4 cm. A crystal of glass-clear gem goshenite (colorless beryl) that was naturally etched by corrosive solutions in the pocket, leaving this weird form. Galiléia, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil 3.4 x 1.6 x 1.2 cm. Golconda pegmatite, Governador Valadares, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil 8.7 x 4.9 x 2.1 cm. A DRAMATIC, LARGE and glassy, tabular goshenite beryl crystal! The translucent crystal has classic hexagonal form and is essentially a basal pinacoid crystal. VERY UNCOMMON! A SUPER piece, contacted on only two edges, has embedded muscovite on one edge. This is a CLASSIC, OLD-TIMER, which we are told by old-timer experts is ... |

Golconda pegmatite, Governador Valadares, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil 4 x 2 x 2 cm. A delicate, very sharp tabular colorless beryl crystal (goshenite) on Muscovite from old finds in Brazil. This lovely goshenite is 1.4 cm across and .3 cm thick, and grows on well-defined books of Muscovite. The beryl is perfectly gemmy, and quite attractive. Its form is so sharp it looks carved. Ex. Charlie Key. |

Resplendor, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil Water-clear, colorless and lustrous “poker-chip” goshenite crystals with inclusions of dark-green tourmaline crystals and a bit of albite. From a single find in the late 1980’s, this is really classic and unique material that is now seldom seen on the market after all those years. This would be considered a very good example for the size! ... |
