A superb specimen, with velvety, acicular brochantite crystals bursting in rounded forms all over the specimens. This example has gorgeous color and richness of these velvety crystal bursts, but also because the crystal mass is set almost perfectly, even standing off of, the background matrix. Bou Bekker (Bou Becker), Touissit, Touissit District, Oujda-Angad Province, Oriental Region, Morocco 9.2 x 5.9 x 4.7 cm. Lustrous, forest-green brochantite blades are festooned on all sides of the unusual looking matrix of very nubby/knobby/vuggy pastel-blue azurite with banded malachite. This very showy and uncommon combination specimen is from the less well-known Bou Bekker Mine of Morocco. |
