Mt Mica Quarry, Paris, Oxford Co., Maine, USA
A fairly large tabular aquamarine from Mt. Mica. 10.0 x 9.1 x 3.8 cm. From pocket 5 of 2008, it was mined on May 12 of that year. Interestingly, it was a greenish-yellow color when it was mined, but then turned blue after less than an hour in the sunlight. Henry Minot photo & collection. |
