2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia A gorgeous combination cabinet piece consisting of pale pink flattened rhombohedral crystals of calcite to 2 cm in size draped attractively about a matrix of black lustrous crystalline sphalerite. This is very clean of damage; I cannot find any chipping even with my 10x loupe. The crystals are nicely arranged and contrast nicely upon the black ... |

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia 6.4 x 4 x 3 cm. This is a VERY unusual Dal’negorsk calcite, due to the extremely uncommon tabular form of the two main “rabbit-ear” crystals (3 cm). The pocket conditions must have been bizarre, because at the feet of these crystals are several crystals that are almost opposite in form: extremely truncated, fat and stumpy, far wider than ... |

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia Lustrous, colorless calcite crystals up to 4 cm covering one side of a floater formation (fully crystallized all surfaces with no point of attachment) with gray quartz crystals up to 2 cm and small crystals of ilvaite and hematite. No damage. Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x8x6.5 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-40 mm. |

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia An intricate, complex, twinned calcite crystal that is nearly a complete floater, with just a small attachment in the bottom -rear. The symmetry and patterning, in person, is really mesmerizing and this is unlike anything I have yet seen from Dalnegorsk! MUCH BETTER IN PERSON. I know it LOOKS curvy and cockeyed atop, but that is a visual illusion ... |

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia A very unusual specimen consisting of black rhombohedrons forming an arboreal arrangement with second generation hexagonal prismatic crystals with pinicoid terminations. The coloration is caused by inclusion of an unknown mineral.7cm X 3.5cm X 3cm |

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia 3.5 x 2 x 1.8 cm. An absolutely terrific Dal’negorsk calcite mini, a perfect “nail-head” crystal with fine transparency, a perfect pyramidal termination, and a bit of accenting matrix attachment. As a bonus, there is a very noticeable phantom down towards the bottom – you can see its striated termination clearly inside. |

The specimen is really lustrous, and has a fine overall form. 8.8 x 6 x 4 cm |

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia A large, STUNNING calcite specimen, with BIG, GEMMY scalenohedral crystals (to 4.5 cm in length and 3 cm thick) growing up in all directions. Only minimal damage, and that on periphery. In person , MUCH MUCH better. A dazzling Dalnegorsk showpiece, glittering with reflected light! 14.7 x 10.1 x 9.5cm |
