Behr Garnet Mine, Chelsea, Bethel Township, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania, USA

Bright red Almandine garnets, a specimen of very garniferous Gabbro, collected near the site of the old Behr Garnet Mine, Delaware Co, Pennsylvania. Larger crystals of a beautiful "Pigeon blood" red were collected at this site in the late 19th century. Specimen size: 7.4 x 5.5cm. From the PA Annex of my personal collection, acquired in 2005.
