Definition of letkya-dwin

A type of gem mining in Burma.
Found in the karst topography of Mogok. It is a fracture-filled deposit, like a small narrow void leading usually to small caves, often interconnected with other fractures or caves. The connection passages are often weak and dangerous as they cannot support the weight of the workers and many accidents have occured this way.
