Description: (Southwest of Asheboro) Thin to thick bedded; bedding plane and axial-planar cleavage common; interbedded with metasandstone, metaconglomerate, and metavolcanic rock.

Comments: Unit descriptions are the same for CAZmd and CAZmd1 thru 3; differentiated only by formation names.
