Zone in which blackish slates and interleavings sandstones, appear as strata strongly folded and trumped in which, occasionally, nodules of pyrite appear.
There a mine exploited veins of iron´s oxides, principally hematites, already in prerromanic epoch, and in the last times by the Sociedad Metalúrgica Duro Felguera, until 1967.
