The locality belongs to a Tertiary (15,3 or 12,4 million years) volcanic body penetrating the Mariánské Lázně Metabasic Complex. Olivine nephelinites are probably non-differentiated products of mantle origin. Mineralogically interesting are coarse-grained parts with clinopyroxene + nepheline + melilite/leucite, sanidine + sodalite, olivine, magnetite, apatite (ijolites to turjaites).
