The higher grade ore occurs along the veins and fractures in lenses ranging from 2 to 6 feet wide and from 20 to several hundred feet long. Lower grade material consist of narrow seams of Mn oxide that extend outward for several feet into the walls of the veins. Associated rocks include Neoproterozoic-Pliocene granite. Local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene volcanic and sedimentary rocks, undivided.
