(Curiglia, Curiglia con Monteviasco, Val Veddasca, Varese, Lombardia, Italia)

An occurrence of pale blue olenite. A single-crystal structure refinement of a sample showed (Kolitsch & Ertl, unpubl. data) that this olenite is very similar to an Fe-bearing olenite recently described from a Czech locality [J. Cempírek, M. Novák, A. Ertl, J. M. Hughes, G. R. Rossman and M. D. Dyar (2006): Fe-bearing olenite with tetrahedrally coordinated Al from an abyssal pegmatite at Kutná Hora, Czech Republic: structure, crystal chemistry, optical and XANES spectra. Can. Mineral. 44, 23-30].
