Turt Mine (Ghezuri Mine), Turt, Satu Mare, Maramures Co., Romania

(Turt (Ghezuri; Turt Bai))

Actively exploited Pb-Zn deposit. Mining started in medieval times; modern mining since 1973.
Includes Ghezuri and Turt Bai deposits/structures.

The mine is near the Turt village which is located 45 km NW of Baia Mare and about 20 km NE of Satu Mare, Oasului Mts.

Note: most wurtzites from here are actually paramorphs of sphalerite after wurtzite (Clain & Haake, 2006).
