Old iron mine whose stopes come to surface immediately north of Taff's Well quarry; gated adit in woods. Worked during much of the 19th century and said to have raised over 1 million tons of ore. Also worked sporadically, and on a very small scale, in the first third of the 20th century.
The flooded lower workings are now used as a source of water for Taff's Well Quarry.
