Greenville Mine (Greenville Shaft prospect), Clark, Routt Co., Colorado, USA
Latitude: 40°41'38"N
Longitude: 106°52'58"W
A Pb-Zn-Au-Ag-Cu prospect.
Maneotis,Fall 2009: The Greenville Mine area lies dues East of the small town of Clark, Colorado. The Greenville workings are quite large. Multiple tailings piles stretch down to the county road below. While all buildings from the site have long been demolished the evidence of excavation is quite evident. A main tunnel connects into a system of shafts and drifts on the lower quarter of the mountain, the lowest level tunnel shafts up to three upper levels, all of which have been tunneled out on their respective level. An ore cart trail winds up the mountain connecting all 3 tunnels on the outside, the same trail continues up the ridge nearly 1.5 miles further East to another mining site. Most tunnels and shafts have suffered substantial structural damage and exploration inside the mine is highly discouraged.
