Name(s) in local language(s):
Västerby fältspatsgruva

Västerby hytta was a smelter with a blast furnace for iron production in the period 1664-1797. It received iron ore from different mines in the district. It was located near today's Västerby (a hamlet).

There is some iron mines nearby as well as a feldspar quarry, known for its "gigantolite" crystals.

The Åmmeberg mining field with the Garpa mine, Åmme mines (iron and manganese ore), and others are located NNW of Västby.
