District de La-Croix-aux-Mines, Vosges, Lorraine, France
Ancient silver mining area, worked intermittently from mediaeval times until 1948. Except for Remémont, all the mines in the district worked on the same group of N-S trending veins, that extend over a distance of more than 5 km between Ban-de-Laveline in the north and Fraize in the south. The most important mines of the district were located in a small area just south of La-Croix-aux-Mines.
