Vallon du Finsterbach (Vallon du Kaltenbaechel), Thann, Vallée de la Thur (Vallée de Thann), Haut-Rhin, Alsace, France
Ancient iron mining area. The veins in this area were worked at a larger scale only after 1739, when a smelter at Bitschwiller-les-Thann had been built. The mines were abandoned by the mid 19th century. Some of them were re-worked for a short period of time after 1873.
