An extensive highland area occupying northwestern Canton (Hartford County) and southeastern Barkhamsted (Litchfield County) underlain by the Cambro-Ordovician Ratlum Mountain schist. Mostly known for the presence of kyanite porphyroblasts. Coordinates are for the Barber survey marker near the geographic center of the plateau.
