Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley:490-491; NJ State Geol. Annual Rpts.: (1890):67; (1891):241. An iron mine located 1.5 miles NE of Gladstone. Started 1890. Featured a shaft 50 feet deep (1890); 2 shafts by the end of 1891 (120 feet & 80 feet). Produced about 400 tons of ore. Ore vein was 3' (1 meter) wide.
