Unnamed Mine, Iron Ridge Mines, Iron Ridge District (Neda Iron District), Dodge Co., Wisconsin, USA

Location SW 1/4 of SW1/4 Sec. 36, T. 12N. R.16E.,. The Unnamed Mine was a single portal drift mine that was dug into the base of the Niagria Escarpment in 1902 to attempt to extract iron ore at that section of the district. It was soon abandoned and eventually the only adit to the mine became covered by talus. Though collecting in that area is not possible, if you go to the junction were highways 33 and 67 meet, turn left on North 67 and go one mile, if you look to the right you will notice the tell-tale sign of the caved-in mine portal just 50 yards east of the highway.
