Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley:363-364; NJ State Geol. Ann. Rpts.: (1868):575; (1883):103-104; (1886):136. An iron mine in magnetite ore located at the base of Mine Hill. Featured a dozen openings and was 300 feet deep. Started before 1868 and closed 1883. Produced 14,695 tons ore between 1879 & 1880. Ore vein was 7 feet to 8 feet at the SW end and 4 feet at the NE end.
