(Isola di Capraia, Livorno, Toscana, Italia)

Capraia Island was a volcanic edifice formed 9 Ma ago; its activity ended 5 Ma ago. All rocks present on this island are effusive and can be classified as latites, quartz-latites (these two kinds of rocks are the most widespread ones on Capraia Island) and trachybasalt, present at Punta dello Zenobito. Minerals can be found as constituents of the volcanic rocks or in fissures.
