Cave di alabastro di Serra Antica, Pomaia, Valle del Marmolaio, Castellina Marittima, Pisa, Toscana, Italia
The alabaster is in the "Gessoso-solfifera" formation of the Upper Miocene (Messinian) as variable size nodules (from few to some hundreds of kilograms).
The quarries are 1.5 km SW of Pomaia, immediately at the south of Marmolaio torrent.
