Úškrtová dolina, Hodruša - Hámre, okres Žarnovica, Banskobystrický kraj, Slovenská republika

Classic, historically well known fassaite skarn with pleonast. Only one occurrance of fassaite in Slovakia.Fassaite skarn mineralization was found by geologist Balas in 1852, Fassaite from this locality was described by mineralogist F. Foetterle in 1853. Kingdom mine chamber disengage the capital for drifting of two adits called Xaver and Jozua, for clearing the deposit and mineral position. Those mining works shows that fassaite Mg-skarn (erlane)was originated in contact of granodiorite with alkaline dolomitic limestone.
Occurance in bottom of small creek valley is in form from 1to 2 metres thick zone of green massive fassaite with oriented black stray streaks of massive pleonast. Occurance of small cavities is numerous, obviously filled with low temperature calcite. Length of Fassaite tall crystals is up to 2 cm, pleonaste black octahedral crystals are up to 1 centimeter. There are also some of orange small crystals up to 2 mm of titanite, and crystals of ordinary quartz up to 1 cm long.
