Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley:343; NJ State Geol. Annual Rpt. (1886):138. An iron mine in magnetite ore located 2½ miles North of Uttertown. Started before 1886 in a 7 foot thick ore body. Featured a shaft 27 feet (9 meters) deep and a 35 foot long open cut.
