Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley:11, 274; NJ State Geol. Annual Rpt. (1880):126-127. An iron mine in magnetite ore located 1 mile NW of Hackettstown. Started 1880 and produced only 20 tons of ore. Workings featured a shaft 15 feet (5 meters) deep (1880) and a 15 foot (5 meter) drift.
