An iron mine in magnetite ore located at the base of Copperas Mtn. Started 1872 & closed 1882; reopened 1899-1900. Deposit was comprised of mutliple ore shoots. South vein was 50 feet wide & 1 mile long, narrowing to 20 - 25 feet wide at the North end. Workings included several pits and a trench; 3 slopes working in 1899 (No. 1 = 360 feet deep).
