An iron mine in magnetite ore located about 2 miles SW of Ironia (Calais of old)(NOTE: literature states 2 miles SW of Calais; however, Mendham Township is East and SE of old Calais.) Closed 1870 and reopened 1880. Ore vein was 4 to 6 feet (1.5 to 2 meters) wide. Workings featured 3 shafts with one to 100 feet deep.
