An iron mine in pyritiferous magnetite ore located about 2 miles NNE of Andover borough (present day Clearwater area).
Longcore is probably the correct name being a family name of long standing in the area. Longcove sounds more descriptive, an elongate valley in the woods. However "cove", like "hollow", is a term common in the southern mountains but not in this area.
