Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley: 367; NJ State Geol. Annual Rpt. (1868): 575. An iron mine in magnetite ore located at Irondale, near Port oram, South of Wharton. One of the Irondale group of mines. Started before 1868. Ore vein was narrow (1 to 3 feet wide). Workings were an open cut 400 feet long by 40 feet deep by 1868.Mineral List
