Wheal Bellan worked several lodes on the north slope of lower Cot valley and the adjoining cliff, its sett including the area between Bosorne Mine in the east and St Just Amalgamated Mines in the northwest.
The main shafts were Badger's shaft (with a chimney and several dumps opposite to Carn Gloose) and Bellan shaft, located a little further southeast.
