An iron mine in magnetite ore located about 7 miles North of Dover on the road between Woodport and Lower Longwood. Started in the early part of the 19th century and closed before 1868. Reopened 1873-1874, 1880, 1885-1886 and 1888-1890. Final abandonment was in 1886 except for brief workings in 1899 (?) and 1901-1902. Workings included a 300 foot deep shaft (by end of 1891). Ore vein was 4 to 7 feet wide and had 2 shoots at the NE end (3 - 4 feet & 4 - 5 feet).
