Canet de Mar is a norteastern village of the prelittoral Mountain Range of Catalonia. This range consists of a large granite basement that is limited to the NE by schists, to the N by the littoral Mountain Range (Montnegre) and to the SW by the Barcelona hydrothermal and sedimentary mountain ranges, as well as by the River Llobregat Plane.
