Unnamed copper prospect (21), Copper Creek area, Rattlesnake District, Galiuro Mts, Graham Co., Arizona, USA

An underground Cu prospect located in sec. 5, T8S, R19E, 2.8 miles ENE of Copper Creek.

Mineralization is a deposit hosted in Galiuro Volcanics Andesite and strikes N68E, dipping 80SE. Fracture surfaces are coated. Some chrysocolla results from alteration of malachite. The fracture zone cuts agglomerate and breccia of an ash cone. Grooves in the fracture walls plunge 20 SW. Ore control was fractures.

Area structures include block faulting trending NNW. Regional trends: minor Pre-Cretaceous E- and NE-trending folds and major Post-Cretaceous NNW-trending faults.

Workings include prospect trenching along the fracture for 200 feet (60.96 meters) along strike, to a depth of 25 feet.

Probably no production.
