Gold-Copper Mines Co. Mine, Chilito, Hayden area, Banner District, Dripping Spring Mts, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

Latitude: 33°4'23"N
Longitude: 110°47'2"W
A former Au-Cu mine located in sec. 23, T4S R15E about ¾ mile NE of Chilito ghost town, about 3¾ miles W of Christmas and about 6 miles NNW of Winkelman, on federal land.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a linear ore body 0.61 meters wide, striking N80W and dipping vertically.

Alteration involves altered igneous rock, which in places, forms the south wall of the main vein. The rock is probably an altered intrusive andesite, perhaps related to the dioritic dikes that are common in this region. The rock is a fine-grained, dull-green rock speckled with numerous small white feldspar phenocrysts. It is an aggregate of chlorite, epidote, residual bits of feldspar, and indeterminate alteration products.
